House Bill Would Protect Workers from Union Violence
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 08:00PM ABC May 21 praised the introduction of the "Freedom From Union Violence Act of 2009" (H.R. 2537) by Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.). The measure would levy a fine of up to $100,000, a prison sentence of up to 20 years, or both, to any person that commits an act of violence or extortion against another person during a labor dispute.

"Lawmakers on Capitol Hill need to send a clear message that any violence or intimidation during labor disagreements will no longer be tolerated," said 2009 ABC National Chairman Jerry Gorski, president of Gorski Engineering, Inc., Collegeville, Pa. "This legislation is long overdue to help protect all workers in the construction industry."
The "Freedom From Union Violence Act of 2009" would close a loophole in the Hobbs Act, a federal law that prohibits actual or attempted robbery or extortion affecting interstate or foreign commerce. The measure now goes to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security for further action.

Great. How about protection from James T. Gibbs and the Southeastern Carpenters Union Local 225 going after civilian's mothers, grandmothers, children, sick patients and wives??
Such a sad sad pathetic bunch of losers and children run that show...
It's great to see that the US Government will no longer tolerate the BS and nonsense of low life punks from the unions. I can't wait to see some of them get prosecuted and go to jail or get slapped with a hefty fine. Punks have no place in this business. ABC is pushing hard to make sure that this important legislation is enacted quickly.
Great news!!
Yeah nobody in Georgia will tolerate the BS and nonsense of low life punks from the southeast carpenters unions local 225 either!
Thank you ABC.
CIRCLE ROCKS!!!!!
Yeah but let's see if the government is really going to protect it's hard-working people from union abuse. This may just be smoke in mirrors. We'll see!
The hammer is about to dro on Jimmy's tactics:
Northeast Auto-Marine Terminal v. Longshoremen’s Ass’n Local 1588, 184 LRRM 2828 (D.N.J. 2008), in which a court prohibited the union from picketing outside the President’s residence based on privacy interests, as being unnecessarily intrusive into the legally protected privacy of the family. There are other cases also holding that a state may prohibit the picketing of the homes of employees without being pre-empted by the National Labor Relations Act. See DeGregory v. Giesing, 95 LRRM 2517 (D.Conn. 1977), at FN1. See also American Radio Association v. Mobile, (U.S. 1974).
I resigned from the SECRC and now have steady work. Let Jimmy and friends know how you feel about his paying the homeless while you sit on your butt.

Jimmy Gibbs ruined the reputation of Atlanta's local 225 years ago, the damage is done.
I am a nurse at Piedmont Hospital. This week as I walked down the street to lunch at Friday's one of these carpenters handing out the "garbage sheets" started cat calling and telling me that he wanted to #@^^$ me. These guys should be put in jail before someone gets raped, robbed or beaten. What would you do if I were your wife or daughter ?
